Work, work work!

Even during Spring Break I continue to work on PTO. Right now my priority is to get the yearbook finished and off to the printer by April 5th. So while the kids play video games, jump on the trampoline, and surf the internet I am busy sorting photos and adding new kids to the files. Today my main goal was to get all the new students who have enrolled at Pathway after school photos were taken, into the yearbook. I had a friend help take pictures at the school this past week of over 60 students. Today I added those students into the yearbook files and matched them up with their classes. After 4-6 hrs (I did not keep track) I finally got all the classroom pages DONE! Since I spent soooo long working on the yearbook I did not get a chance to take a photo of the day so I shot a picture of me sitting in my rocker facing my laptop. So you get a view of what I have been working so hard on all day. Once it is all done I will not have to worry about it until next year...LOL.

Something Old and Something New

Today we went out and bought a new washer! On Thursday evening our old one gave us an error code that was for a bad/clogged pump. So Mark took the pump apart on Friday and emptied out ALL the gunk. We started the washer up again and re-washed a load of laundry. Error code again! Mark cleaned out the pump again and then took a closer look at the machine and noticed that the plastic around the drum had deteriorated and was what was clogging the pump. So today we went out to look for a new washer after 2 days of internet searches. We finally decided on a GE washer from Ultimate Electronics. We also got a discount due to a good friend working for Ultimate.

Fishing Derby Saturday

Today was the 6th annual fishing derby at Pacana Park. This was the 1st year we were signed up to attend the event (registration fills up within hours of opening). Kids all get a brand new fishing pole from Fry's Food and Bait (worms) and tackle kit from ChitWoods (a local feed store). There was also a BBQ afterwards sponsered by Fry's Food as well.

The derby started at 2:30 p.m. and went until 4 p.m. and was a catch and release event. The kids were supposed to keep track of how many fish they caught and turn in score cards at the end of the event. Right before the event started Bryce fell on the playground and was injured on his leg and belly. We patched him up and elevated his leg near the lake.

The kids had a great time learning to cast and reel in their lines. Bryce had a hard time learning to leave his line in the water..lol. Kyle caught 1 catfish and Bryce ended the day with 0. But he still had a fun time. We even stayed a bit later tring to catch another fish but no luck...lots of nibbles and a few who got away but only 1 fish was caught by our family.

Mark told the boys we could go out tomorrow morning at 5 am before church...I laughed. I think we will probably go fishing while the boys are off for spring break since a lot of their friends are leaving town for Spring Break. I think they really enjoy the chance at catching a fish and I think as long as I bring gloves I will be able to help them with the fish. I hope!

Enter Sandman!

Listening to the kids MP3 player tonight gave me an idea for the title for this blog.

This picture is a glimpse of Kyle in the car almost all the time now. He loves his MP3 player and car rides seem to be the time he loves to listen to it the most. Kyle often falls asleep listening to his songs. He has always been the one to fall asleep any time he feels tired and car rides are the best time to sleep. So tonight on the way back from helping out at the church I shot this picture to remind me of how sweet they look when they are sleeping! ROFL

Rocking the 80's look

Another spirit day at school. Today was 80's day at school. I have come to find out that dressing boys for an 80's day at school is not as easy as dressing girls for 80's day. There were not a lot of styles for boys (well there might have been but finding styles last minute was not easy). So the style we tried for Kyle was a "rocker" but since I did not have a concert T-shirt we chose a Monster Jam T-shirt with black jeans rolled at the bottom and tennis shoes. We also spiked his hair with white gel.

Bryce was a rebel (?) I was trying to mimic the guy from the Breakfast Club. He wore blue jeans rolled at the bottom with a blue t-shirt and cut off flannel shirt over it. I should have cut the sleeves a bit shorter on the flannel shirt but it was too late.

The kids really enjoy dressing up for spirit week.

Twin Day for Spirit Week

This week is Spirit Week at school and the boys wanted to dress up with Christian in Kyle's class. Since I have a ton of clothes for the boys that are the same kind but different sizes it was easy to find clothes for all 3 boys. Today was also a half day at school so after school we took 6 kiddos to the movies to see tooth fairy. Good movie and the kids were great.

Potting Flowers

Sorry I have not posted in the last 2 days but I have been SICK. I did take pictures yesterday but they were all for the school's yearbook so there was really nothing to blog about. So if you wanna get technical I only skipped 1 day of picture taking.

Anyway on to today's photo of the day. Kyle's teacher gave me a few left over flowers from ones she was planning in her classroom. I brought them home and left them in their little store container in the hopes of planting them shortly. After the 1st day I thought I had lost them since they were almost dead. After watering them for a few days in a row I was able to get them to come back. So I went out to buy a pot to plant them and today I got some potting soil from his teacher. Tonight the boys helped plant the little flowers in a proper pot with proper soil. Now lets see if I can keep them alive for at least 1 more week. :)
